Video – Formby 5-1 Padiham
Formby FC promised us goals – and in FootballEditorial.com’s first trip to Altcar Road the team delivered with a deluge in a 5-1
thrashing of Padiham in the FA Vase.
The Red Squirrel’s win continued the club’s superb start to the season and gave the fans something to cheer
about after a disappointing first half in which a host of chances went begging for the home side.
Formby went in 1-0 down at the break but as the sun shone they made hay with a display of technically adept,
passing football that ended in a one-sided victory.
On this display, Formby will not be a North West Counties First Division side for long. Two years after they were demoted due to an administration error, the new-look side will be a tough task for any team in the division.
In the meantime, take a look at our brief highlights of the game above. Unfortunately, we missed the third goal,
which came seconds after the second – but the rest are all present and correct.
