About: Everton Football Club is one of the biggest teams in English football. Founded in 1878, it holds numerous trophies and has the honour of spending the most seasons at the top tier of English football.

From its humble beginnings as St Domingos, Everton has become one of the most influential teams in football history. The club is the most historical on Merseyside, and its list of achievements and notable former players are the envy of all.

Although ageing, Goodison Park is one of the most iconic stadiums in England, with a World Cup semi final perhaps its highlight. The first all-purpose football stadium in England, Goodison Park is widely regarded as having one of the best atmospheres in the Premiership because of the passion of the fans and their proximity to the pitch.

Famous names include the greatest striker in English football history, Dixie Dean, who scored a record 60 goals in a season, Bob Latchford, Graeme Sharp, Neville Southall and numerous others.

Everton have always been known for their groundbreaking, stylish football. Once dubbed the ‘School of Science’, the club’s greatest period was the 1980′s when Howard Kendall’s side was regarded as one of the best in the world.

In recent years, cash problems and mismanagement have hindered the club, but under David Moyes there has been somewhat of a revival. However, the club is still short of money, and without investment, will not challenge the top teams in the Premiership.
